Since the days of India's freedom movement the middle-class has been the forbearer of India's political journey. Whether it was the JP movement or the communist movement or India's journey after liberalisation, the middle-class has always been at the forefront of shaping the country's political discourse. But since the last decade or so, the middle-class is slowly getting disconnected from the reality. From not exercising their right to franchising to getting enmeshed in a cocoon of their own, the middle-class, the beneficiaries of India's economic liberalisation, are living a in a world of their own.

Is the middle-class living in a bubble of their own? Why the reality of India doesn't bother them anymore? Why do they take to the streets on matters concerning them only? Or Are we being unfair to the middle class?
