Relief and ration distribution continue unabated in the flood-affected areas in West Bengal in Bhagwanpur Block II. Almost three lakh people were affected overnight when the floodwaters of the Keleghai river breached the Amgechia embankment and entered the villages. To add salt to the wound, a bumper crop was what villagers were looking forward to harvest. Instead, thousands of hectares of paddy fields lie under water.
