The communal violence in Orissa's Kandhamal district has affected both the Christian and Hindu communities. But over the last four days there has been a marked decline in religious tension and the accent should be now be on relief and rehabilitation. The state government has announced a compensation package for the affected families but what is bothering the affected people in the riot-torn district is that the relief provided is haphazard and inadequate.
