Maharashtra has recorded the highest number of farmer suicides in the country. The latest data on suicides from the National Crime Records Bureau places the state ahead of all others in this shameful trail. And the farmer crisis is only getting worse. In a one-year span, the rise in farmer suicides in Maharashtra is four and a half times higher than Andhra Pradesh.
