A ban on the sale and production of arrack takes effect on Sunday in Karnataka.Reports said mobile teams will fan out in the state to stamp out illegal production of arrack in the wake of the ban.The ban that will shut down the arrack industry said to be worth Rs 2000 crore was aimed at winning the support of women voters.
