This may well be indicative of the government's confusing approach towards resolving the latest turbulence in Jammu and Kashmir. In a rapid sequence on Thursday, CRPF's Inspector General Sunil Kumar Jain was shifted out of violence-hit Srinagar by the Centre. At the same time in New Delhi, an official communication was issued. It announced the names of the winners of the President's Medal for distinguished service. However, by evening, the Home Ministry had dropped Jain's name from the list.
