Imagine not being able to carry out repairs in your home. This is the plight of some Jammu residents after the 2005 earthquake. They have found that their house repair has become a government issue. Tenants like 94-year-old S B Mahey is not allowed to get any repairs done in his house. His house falls under what is called evacuee property that is property of those who migrated from Jammu to Pakistan during Partition.
