It's touted as a lifeline for the parched lands of Gujarat, but a breach in the main canal of the Sardar Sarovar project in Gujarat has raised concern over the safety mechanism of the project. Though an inquiry has been instituted, ironically one of the reasons being feared for the breach are the rodents.
