Manda Gaikwad and her 15-year-old son battled the fury of Godawari in Nashik's Gangapur Road for over five hours. Swept from the roof of their house where they had taken refuge, they managed to climb a tree before being rescued. "We got onto a tree before we were rescued. Now we are getting food but there is no place to sleep. Would have been better if we had died," she said.
