Nearly 10 years ago in December 2005, the farmers of Dorli in Maharashtra's Wardha district put up their village for sale after a long period of drought and government neglect. This desperate act was met with a rush of promises but little changed on the ground. Last month, the farmers of Vaghoda village not far from Dorli decided to go down the same road after their crops failed three years in a row.
