High attrition rate a trouble for BPOs

Call centres are the Pied Pipers of job recruitment for the young and restless. But with attrition climbing to 30 per cent - its highest ever - is it D-Day for the once-thriving industry? "Earlier we had 10-15 interviews a day but now we have only 3-4 a month. So we have shifted to other industries like stock broking, oil and gas, IT, finance and telecom," said Vijay Gavkar, Chairman, Sixth Sense Mall.
