Twenty-three year old Amitash Singh is a student and has a part time job, which barely pays him Rs 2,500 a month. He lives in a 100 square foot chawl with four other members of his family whom he partly supports. If any bank checked this out he would not be eligible for most loans. But even then, GE Money and Citifinacial, both gave him personal loans totalling Rs 75,000.
