Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Tehran on Saturday and met his Iranian counterpart for talks. Naqvi traveled to Tehran on a two-day visit as part of Islamabad's attempts to help ease tensions between the United States and Iran, officials said. Pakistan did not immediately issue a statement on the visit, but two government officials confirmed the trip, saying Naqvi is expected to meet senior Iranian officials. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the media. The visit comes two days after Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said "the clock on diplomacy has not stopped" and that Islamabad was continuing efforts to help ensure peace in the region.
