Saffron Art's summer online auction notched up sales to the tune of Rs 38.8 crores or $9.7 million. The presale estimates were around Rs 27 crore. The auction also witnessed a widened buyer base with 600 registered bidders from 30 countries. The star painting of the auction was interestingly Subodh Gupta's untitled, oil on canvas, that beat even the best of Modernists.
