Airlines seek ways to cut fares

Airlines in India are losing out on business as costly crude prices have kept the fares high. Now, airlines are desperate to cut costs and reduce fares. The Federation of Indian Airlines, an umbrella organisation of all scheduled airlines, has sought permission from the Centre to directly import aviation turbine fuel instead of buying it from Indian oil companies.
