Hyderabad police commissioner Anjani Kumar has described the coronavirus pandemic as the "Third World War". Through a 40-minute film, scripted and narrated by him, the Hyderabad police chief has documented the unprecedented efforts made by his police force and other departments to fight the pandemic in Telangana. The film talks about the political decisions taken by the central and the state leadership, and describes how the police force re-jigged their capabilities. The film also highlights how women and men on the ground were motivated and inspired to fight the battle knowing they knew there was a real personal risk, recognising the fact that morale was most important in this battle. The film could serve as study material for training officers on police innovation on the ground and reinvention in difficult circumstances.
