Police and anti-terrorist commandos searched nearly 900 homes at a Hyderabad high-rise through the night yesterday, suspecting that a gang that had attempted a daring robbery earlier in the day was hiding there.

Andhra Pradesh on Monday launched the headquarters of its elite anti-terror commando force Octopus (Organisation For Counter Terrorist Operations). Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy inaugurated the headquarters of Octopus, formed on the lines of National Security Guard (NSG) to counter terrorist attacks.
