Karnataka Zilla Elections

The Karnataka State Election Commission on Tuesday told the High Court that the State government had taken away its powers making it unable to hold elections to the Zilla Panchayat (ZP) and Taluk Panchayats (TP) as mandated by the Supreme Court.

Ruling Congress today edged ahead of BJP in the in Taluk and Zilla Panchayat elections in Karnataka, where polls were held in two phases.
