Wife of White House official found burnt to death in her car
Washington: The wife of a senior White House official was found burnt to death in her car near the Capitol this morning.

Ashley Turton, wife of White House liaison to the House of Representatives Dan Turton, was working as a lobbyist for Progress Energy a North Carolina-based utility company.

Turton's car was discovered ablaze in a row house garage, presumably their home, near the Capitol Hill, local police and fire officials said.

"This news is very hard to take. I know we all will keep her husband, children and parents in our thoughts and prayers," said Progress Energy CEO Bill Johnson.

"Today is an eventful day for us as employees of Progress Energy. Ashley's tragic death reminds us all to keep perspective in all things," Johnson said.

The police was investigating the case.
