India Surpasses China, Israel to Top Forbes' US Immigrant Billionaire List 2025
Since 2022, India has added five new billionaires to the list, taking the total to 12.

At least 12 immigrant billionaires, most from a single country, living in the US were born in India, according to a new report. India overtook Israel, Taiwan and China as the birthplace of immigrant billionaires in America, according to Forbes' list of America's richest immigrants 2025.

Since 2022, India has added five new billionaires to the list, taking the total to 12. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, and Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora are among the five recent additions from India to the list.

The other new entrants are Rajiv Jain, Chairman of GQG Partners, and Raj Sardana, founder and CEO of Innova Solutions.

Indian-American Jay Chaudhry, who runs the software company Zscaler, is among America's 10 wealthiest immigrants. He holds the 8th position with a net worth of $17.9 billion.

The list includes Vinod Khosla, co-founder of Sun Microsystems; Rakesh Gangwal, co-founder of IndiGo Airlines; Romesh T. Wadhwani, CEO of Symphony Technology Group; Kavitark Ram Shriram, venture capitalist; David Paul, founder of Globus Medical; and Neerja Sethi, co-founder of Syntel.

India tops the Forbes list with 12 billionaire immigrants in the US, followed by Israel and Taiwan with 11, following a sharp rise from 1 and 7, respectively, since 2022. Canada and China come next with 9 and 8 billionaires, both up by 1.

The US is home to 125 foreign-born billionaires who hail from 43 countries and account for 14 per cent of the country's total billionaire population.

The 125 immigrant members of the three-comma club living in the US account for a collective fortune of $1.3 trillion. That translates to a mammoth 18% of America's $7.2 trillion billionaire wealth.

The Forbes methodology for the list defined an immigrant billionaire as one born out of the country but an American citizen living in the US with an estimated net worth of over $1 billion as of July 7, 2025.

About 93% of these immigrant billionaires are self-made, and about two-thirds of them made it big in tech and finance, Forbes reported.
