New Delhi:

Erika Kirk, the widow of the conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has opened about how her children are doing without their father, who was assassinated during Utah University event nearly two months ago. During an interview with Fox News' Jesse Watters, Erika said that her children -- three-year-old girl and one-year-old son -- still ask about their father and her daughter in particular has questions about talking to daddy.

In a snippet from the interview, which will be broadcast on November 5, Erika is seen tearing up while talking about her personal life.

After Charlie's death, Erika told her children that their father has gone on a work trip with Jesus. "Are they still asking, 'where is daddy?' questions host Watters.

"Yes, my daughter continues to ask," Erika responds. "But it is really sweet because I keep explaining to her a few things. And I said, if you ever want to talk to Daddy, you just look up to sky and start talking to him. He can hear you."

With a lump in her throat, Erika visibly tries to hold back her tears and wipes her eyes.

"And I told her, I said, you know Daddy is in heaven. She goes, 'You think I could go sometime?' I said, 'Baby, we will all go one day. We will all go one day.'"

Last week, Erika shared a deeply moving video in which their daughter is seen spotting her late father's poster outside the Turning Point USA headquarters.

As the car drove by the building, the little girl eagerly pointed at the poster and said, "I see Daddy!". In the caption, Erika wrote, "Her saying your name, as she witnesses all you've built and continue to build, proves that love never dies-it just changes form. It breathes through our children."

She added that their daughter was a part of Charlie's lasting legacy, stating, "This is her legacy also. And as she grows up and continues to say your name, I'll be reminding her that each time heaven leans in to listen."

She ended with a heartfelt tribute, "I love you, Charlie baby. I'm so proud of you. We all are incredibly proud of you."

Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot and killed during a speech at Utah Valley University on September 10. Tyler Robinson, 22, has been charged with shooting Kirk, a close ally of US President Donald Trump. He faces the death penalty if convicted.

Erika has however forgiven Robinson.

"He (Charlie) wanted to save young men just like the one who took his life," she said. "That man, that young man, I forgive him," she added tearfully during an interview with Fox News.
