Yumnam Khemchand Singh Sworn In As Manipur's Chief Minister
Yumnam Khemchand Singh took oath as the new Chief Minister of Manipur this evening. Along with him, Deputy Chief Ministers Nemcha Kipgen and Losii Dikho, and the state's new Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam took oath. President's Rule was removed from Manipur earlier today. During the President's Rule, which came into effect after N Biren Singh resigned as chief minister in February 2025, Manipur's assembly had been in a state of suspended animation - inactive but not dissolved.
