Faecal Sludge Management has been called the missing and ignored component of the sanitation sector. With India having barely 30% sewerage lines, where is the daily dump going? As a nation we need to look at an extension of the Swachh Bharat vision and go beyond building toilets and look holistically at the sanitation value chain from containment to treatment and safe disposal or reuse.
