Why Ian McKellen Revealed He Was Gay
At the launch of Shakespeare on Film with BFI and British Council, a global tour, and MAMI Film Club, Sir Ian McKellen said that he revealed he was gay at the age of 49. He said: "I better declare to the world that I am a gay man but I am an actor. So, I can do anything regardless of sexuality."
