West Bengal Tunnel Collapse | Concrete Structure Guarding Slope Of Railway Tunnel Collapses

Amid rains in the past few days in North Bengal and Sikkim, today a concrete structure guarding the approach slope of one of the key tunnels of the key rail link project to the Himalayan state of Sikkim - the Sevok - Rangpo project collapses due to landslide, videos of the incident have gone viral on Social media. According to Northeast Frontier Railways ( NFR) sources , the incident happened near tunnel 7 of Sevok - Rongpo project at Ravi Jhora near Teesta Bazaar in Kalimpong District of West Bengal, Bordering Sikkim. NFR sources added that due to heavy rains and landslides heavy machinery and workers were already removed from the area , there was no injuries or casualty in the incident though the video that has gone viral on social media is extremely dramatic. Work for removal of the debris has stated , NFR sources further added. The Sevok-Rangpo railway project, is one of the most challenging railway project , seen as an engineering marvels as it would link Sevok in West Bengal to Rangpo in Sikkim - a 45 km rail line that's will link Sikkim to the national railway network.
