West Bengal Elections | West Bengal Sees Political Face-Off As Ram Navami Passes Largely Peacefully

A political face-off has intensified in West Bengal, with the Trinamool Congress and BJP trading allegations over alleged violations of the model code of conduct. The TMC has filed a complaint against BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, while the BJP has hit back with a counter-complaint, escalating tensions ahead of polls. The Election Commission has also stepped in, transferring the District Magistrate of East Medinipur following complaints of rule violations. Amid the political sparring, Ram Navami celebrations across the state, including in Kolkata, have remained largely peaceful this year. Devotees took to the streets with processions and religious fervour, marking a notable shift from previous years when the festival was often marred by tensions.
