Nepal India Ties | “We Do Not Want To Replace One With Another”: Nepal On India-China Ties
Nepal’s Foreign Minister explains how Kathmandu views its relationships with India and China, stressing that Nepal wants to maintain strong ties with both neighbours based on its national interests. He says China’s economic presence has grown, while Nepal also wants greater economic engagement with India. The Foreign Minister highlights that around two-thirds of Nepal’s trade is with India and says Nepal received “$0” from BRI projects over the past decade. He emphasises that Nepal does not see its relationship with India and China as a choice between the two.
