In a fortnight of continuous firing by Pakistan from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir, two civilians have been killed and at least 15 injured. "This is the heaviest cross border firing I've seen since the 19771 war," said DK Pathak, who heads the Border Security Force, adding, "it is unprecedented to target civilian areas to this extent." When asked what instructions have been given by the government, Director General Pathak said, "We have been told very clearly to respond appropriately."
