Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay paid a surprise visit to the Government Children's Hospital in Egmore, Chennai, following a viral social media video alleging bribery and unhygienic conditions at the facility.
The surprise inspection came amid growing public concern over the hospital's infrastructure and patient facilities. Responding to the visit, the Tamil Nadu Health Minister said the contract staff found responsible have been dismissed. Visitors also highlighted the need for more toilets, additional wards, and a canteen at the hospital.
