Vijay-Led MPs' Meet Backs Delimitation Resolution, Seeks Permanent Freeze at 543 Seats

At the TVK-called MPs' meeting, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay is learnt to have expressed disappointment over the DMK's absence, while leaders of the Congress, VCK, IUML and Left parties participated. The meeting discussed plans for a Tamil Nadu Assembly resolution opposing the proposed delimitation exercise and agreed that the ruling alliance would push for a permanent freeze at 543 Lok Sabha seats, with 39 seats for Tamil Nadu. Four Congress MPs also spoke at the meeting as the alliance worked out its strategy on the delimitation issue.
