Vietnam Police Crack Down On Alleged Cat Meat Network, Rescue Hundreds
Minh City. The operation, launched following an investigation into a series of pet thefts, led officers to dozens of cages holding hundreds of live cats and containers filled with dead animals. While more than 40 rescued cats have already been reunited with their owners, animal welfare groups say dozens died due to the harsh conditions in which they were found. The case is being described as one of Vietnam's largest cat welfare operations in recent years and has renewed attention on the country's controversial cat meat trade.
