US India Trade Deal | ‘Won’t Repeat China-Like Mistake’: US Says ‘America First’ In India Trade Deal

The United States will prioritise its national interests while expanding economic engagement with India, US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said. Speaking about the evolving US-India trade relationship, Landau stressed that Washington will not repeat what it considers mistakes made during trade engagement with China two decades ago. He said the “America First” approach would guide future economic cooperation with India, ensuring that American interests remain protected while strengthening bilateral trade ties.
