US Freezes Afghan Asylum, Halts Visas In Major Immigration Crackdown

The Trump administration has frozen all asylum decisions for Afghan nationals and ordered a reexamination of green cards issued to people from so-called "countries of concern." All visa services for Afghan passport holders have been suspended, closing the last pathway for Afghans who supported U.S. forces. The administration says the moves are necessary for national security, while rights groups condemn them as collective punishment.
