UP MLC Results: BJP Wins Six Seats, But SP's Varanasi And Lucknow Victories Trigger Political Storm

The Uttar Pradesh MLC election results have delivered a mixed verdict, setting off a fierce political battle between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. The BJP won six of the 11 seats, while the SP made significant gains in key constituencies, including Varanasi and Lucknow. Despite Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath campaigning for BJP candidates, the SP victories have given Akhilesh Yadav fresh ammunition to target the ruling party, calling the results an embarrassment for the BJP.
