At least six people were killed and 37 injured after Ukrainian missiles struck the Bryansk region in Russia, according to regional governor Alexander Bogomaz. The strike reportedly targeted the Kremniy El microelectronics plant, one of Russia’s largest producers of electronic components used in missile systems, air defence platforms and drones. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the facility manufactured control systems used in Russian missiles that target Ukrainian cities. Ukraine’s military said it used British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles in the strike. Footage released by the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff showed the moment the facility in Bryansk was hit. Zelenskyy defended the operation, saying Ukraine was acting in self-defence. The strike comes amid continued fighting between Ukraine and Russia, with Kyiv also urging the United States not to ease sanctions on Moscow.
