Trump Warns Iran's Trading Partners Of Economic Action: India's Exports To Take A Hit?

US President Donald Trump has warned countries against giving Iran an "economic lifeline". He said any country, financial institution or business that helps Tehran could face "TREMENDOUS" economic consequences. "This will be an ECONOMIC D-DAY, and we need all of our Allies to stand with the United States of America to isolate, and defeat, the Iran threat," said Trump. The warning comes as the US steps up its economic pressure on Iran. For India, however, this is more than just war rhetoric. India remains an important trading partner of Iran. In fact, India enjoys a trade surplus with Iran. Even though India's trade with Iran has been reducing due to the tensions in the Middle East, exporters may still feel the pinch if Trump backs up his warning with action.
