TRF Group | US Labels TRF A Terror Group, But Ignores Pakistan’s Involvement, Why?

The US designated The Resistance Front (TRF), a Pakistan-sponsored terrorist group linked to the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. On paper, this is a diplomatic win for India, aiming to choke TRF's funding, restrict movement, and create global stigma. However, considering TRF is the sixth Pakistan-based group designated by the US (including Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed since 2001), past designations haven't stopped attacks like Mumbai 26/11, Uri, Pathankot, or Pulwama. The US hasn't taken punitive action against Pakistan's deep state despite these designations, likely because Pakistan remains a "useful hedge" for Washington against India and China's influence in South Asia.
