Traditional Boat Race Festival Heikru Hidongba Celebrated With Great Fervour In Imphal
The 247th edition of Heikru Hidongba, a traditional boat race festival, was celebrated with great cultural fervour on Wednesday at the moat of Shri Shri Bijoygovindajee Temple. Held annually on the 11th day of the Manipuri month of Lamta, the festival is deeply rooted in rituals, customs, and traditional beliefs of creation. Beyond its ceremonial significance, it is observed with heartfelt devotion, symbolising prayers for the prosperity of the people.
