The Supreme Court on Thursday cancelled a sedition case against journalist Vinod Dua and said that a 1962 order protects every journalist from such charges. Vinod Dua was charged with sedition in Himachal Pradesh over his criticism of the central government's handling of Covid, based on a complaint by a BJP leader; Mumbai's Covid vaccination drive remained suspended today at centres run by the city's civic body and the Maharashtra government due to the unavailability of sufficient number of vaccine doses, the city's civic body said; all vaccine makers, whether Indian or foreign, should be granted the same protection, Adar Poonawalla-led Serum Institute has reportedly told the government.
