The Gujarat police has arrested Trinamool Congress spokesperson Saket Gokhale for a tweet in which he claimed that an RTI had revealed that the Prime Minister's recent visit to Morbi after the bridge tragedy had cost Rs 30 crores. This was flagged later as "fake news" by the government. Gokhale was arrested after landing in Jaipur and bypassing normal process, the Rajasthan police were apparently completely unaware this had happened. Is this police overreach?
