Former TMC leader Sushmita Dev has cast doubt on speculation surrounding a possible merger between the Trinamool Congress and the Congress, arguing that political mergers do not automatically translate into vote transfers on the ground. Speaking to NDTV, she said that while party leaders may come together, the real challenge lies in whether their respective voter bases also unite.
