A lot has changed in Andhra Pradesh from 2009 to 2014. If in 2004 and in 2009, Andhra Pradesh contributed substantially to the UPA kitty (29 and 33 seats respectively), now the picture may look very different. The Praja Rajyam party that got nearly 16 per cent of the vote share has merged with the Congress that got 39 per cent vote share last time. And yet prospects for the congress don't look bright because of a perceived backlash against the party. Uma Sudhir travelled to Tirupati, from where Chiranjeevi became MLA the last time as PRP chief, to try and gauge the mood of the electorate in the area.
