Tamil Nadu is witnessing unprecedented floods, but forecasting extreme rainfall events like the one is the southern state is not easy. But there's solution for it back home. Highly sophisticated radars called 'Doppler Weather Radars' give very accurate information. Till recently, India was importing these radars, but now two of the country's best science agencies - the Indian Space Research Organization and the Department of Atomic Energy - have joined hands and developed a state of the art 'Doppler Weather Radar'. NDTV's Science Editor Pallava Bagla was given a rare look into this facility that will help save lives.
