'The World Needs To Talk': Columbia University's Nirupam Bajpayi's Big Message On War, AI & Climate

Speaking to NDTV, Dr. Nirupam Bajpayi, Director of the South Asia Program at Columbia University, identified war, artificial intelligence and the climate crisis as the three biggest challenges facing the world today. His key message was simple yet powerful: people and leaders need to talk more. Bajpayi argued that the world is suffering from a lack of communication and suggested that many conflicts could have unfolded differently if leaders had engaged in more dialogue. Drawing from the Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam or "The World Is One Family," he stressed that global problems require global cooperation. Bajpayi also highlighted the urgent need for collective action on climate change, calling for Western nations, India, China and other developing countries to work together to address one of humanity's most pressing challenges.
