One should never underestimate the power of a sewing machine. It can sometimes stitch torn and shattered pieces together and create a beautiful life and for someone like Sunita it can also build an armor to fight a pandemic like COVID 19. The USHA Silai School and SIDBI (Small Industries Development Bank of India) partnership is proving to be a game changer on the ground, empowering women to take control of their lives and destinies. Anuradha, a resident of a Delhi Slum spoke to us about how it changed her life. In the time of lockdown due to Coronavirus, these women have shown that empowered with a skill, basic technical and financial support, they can support their own families and even help others economically by creating employment.
