World Health Organization (WHO) states that around 15 per cent of the world's population, or an estimated 1 billion people, live with some form of disability. They are the world's largest minority. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines disability as a condition of the body or mind that makes it more difficult for the person with the condition to do certain activities and interact with the world around them. Is enough being done to integrate people with disabilities socially and economically? Here is a fact sheet on the extent of the problem in India and the world.
