The Best Of NDTV Cleanathon With Amitabh Bachchan

NDTV-Dettol Banega Swachh India celebrated Rashtriya Swachhta Diwas on October 2 by holding a 12-hour live televised cleanathon with Campaign Ambassador Amitabh Bachchan in which various clean-up and plantation drives were organised across India to spread the message of Swachh Bharat Mission and bring together people from all walks of life to contribute towards the cause. From celebrities such as Parineeti Chopra, Arjun Kapoor, Hema Malini, Sonu Nigam, to Chief Ministers of Assam, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Punjab, Government ministers like Minister of Commerce and Industry, Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister Harsh Vardhan and Secretary Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Parameswaran Iyer, experts and panelists, everyone discussed a wide-ranging issues from the scrouge of open defecation, pollution in the air, landfill crisis, dying rivers, choking oceans, waste management, plastic recycling and the way forward to help fulfill the dream of a clean India by 2019.
