Tension Peaks Before Counting: Violence, Allegations Rock Bengal
Fresh violence and political tensions have gripped South 24 Parganas during re-polling in parts of Magrahat Paschim and Diamond Harbour. Clashes between supporters of Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party broke out after a peaceful start to voting. The re-poll, ordered by the Election Commission of India over alleged irregularities, has intensified political friction. Residents in Falta have also raised concerns of voter intimidation ahead of counting.
