Telangana News | Telangana Introduces QR Wristbands For Safety At Medaram Jatara Festival

With less than a week to go for the Sammakka–Saralamma Medaram Jatara in Telangana’s Mulugu district, local police have deployed a QR-based tracking system to ensure the safety of millions of devotees expected to attend the four-day tribal festival. Authorities have introduced QR code-enabled, geo-tagged wristbands at major entry points along bus and railway routes, allowing officials to quickly trace and reunite missing children, elderly individuals, and vulnerable devotees with their families. Touted as Asia’s biggest tribal gathering, the Medaram Jatara will begin on January 28, with extensive security arrangements and technology-driven policing measures in place to manage crowds and enhance public safety.
