The upcoming assembly poll is very crucial for the AIADMK, which is determined to re-establish its rule in Tamil Nadu after being in the opposition for five years. In a charged-up political atmosphere, 71-year-old Edappadi K Palaniswami, the general secretary of AIADMK, has launched his outreach campaign Makkalaikappom Tamilagathai Meetpom (Let’s save people, retrieve Tamil Nadu). Through the campaign, he aims to bring the party back to power, targeting the DMK and rejoining hands with former ally BJP. After losing all elections in the state since 2019, he is seeking to reverse the trend for the 54-year-old party.
